Steven Biel is an American author. His works include: “Down with the Old Canoe: A Cultural History of the Titanic Disaster” and “Titanica: The Disaster of the Century in Poetry, Song, and Prose”. Biel?s interest in shipwrecks was first inspired by Gordon Lightfoot?s song, “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” He has also taught history, literature, American studies, and writing at Harvard and Brandeis.
