Woodrow Tracy Harrelson, better known as Woody Harrelson, is an Emmy-award winning American television and film actor. While Harrelson is best known for his role in the popular 1980s situation comedy “Cheers”, he has also acted in films such as “Natural Born Killers”, “The People vs. Larry Flynt” for which he received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor and “A Scanner Darkly”.
In the 1990s, Harrelson became an activist for the legalization of marijuana and hemp in the US, and engaged in environmental activism to protect Pacific redwood trees. He is also an antiwar activist and has often spoken publicly against the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
