Barbara Hershey is an American actress, known for her many film roles. Her awards include 1967 winner of the Western Heritage Award for Fictional Television Drama, “The Monroes” (shared with cast and crew), the 1987 winner of Cannes Film Festival Best Actress for “Shy People”, 1988 winner of Cannes Film Festival Best Actress for “A World Apart” (shared with Jodhi May and Linda Mvusi), 1990 winner of the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Miniseries/TV Film for “Killing in a Small Town”.
She also boasts several nominations including the 1991 nominee for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in A Miniseries/TV Film for “Paris Trout”, 1996 nominee of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in “Portrait of a Lady”, 1970 nominee of the Laurel Award for Female New Face in “Last Summer”, 1987 nominee at the BAFTA Awards for Best Supporting Actress in “Hannah and Her Sisters” and 1989 nominee for the Golden Globe Best Supporting Actress for “The Last Temptation of Christ”.
