Ricardo Luna was Peru’s Ambassador to the United States until 1999.

Luna’s prior position was Peru’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (1989-1992). During a diplomatic career that began in 1966, Ambassador Luna has held numerous key positions both in the Ministry of Foreign Relations and abroad, serving in London, Tel Aviv, Geneva, Washington DC, New York, Paris and Quito.

Luna has a Master in International Affairs (1964) from the former Graduate School of International Affairs at Columbia University. He was a Fellow at Harvard’s Center for International during the early 1980s, and is currently Visiting Professor at the Woodrow Wilson School of International Affairs, Princeton University.
