James Robertson is a judge for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. He was appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1994. In 2005, Judge Robertson resigned his Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court position. He served as chief council with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. While in private practice, he served as president of the District of Columbia Bar, co-chair of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
