Wallace Kuralt was the younger brother of Charles Kuralt, was well-known in his home state of North Carolina, having been the owner of “The Intimate Bookshop” on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. Wallace also wrote the introduction to Charles’ book, “On the Road with Charles Kuralt”. A year before his death, Kuralt published a lamentation on the negative effects that “big-box” retail chains had on smaller chains such as his Franklin Street store.
