Annette Gordon-Reed has been a Professor of Law at New York Law school since 1992.
Gordon-Reed earned a place in history with her first book, “Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings: An American Controversy”. She is recognized as one of our country’s most distinguished presidential scholars.
In her book, “Vernon Can Read!: A Memoir” (Public Affairs, 2001), coauthored with presidential confidant and long-time civil rights leader Vernon Jordan, she helps profile one of the most charismatic figures in the U.S. with a story that encompasses the sweeping struggles, changes, and dangers of black life during the civil rights revolution.
