Donald Bogle is a noted film historian and author. He is the author of “Brown Sugar: Eighty Years of America’s Black Female Superstars,” which he was later a four-part documentary for PBS. He teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
