Allan Rosenfield, MD is dean of the Mailman School of Public Health. An obstetrician gynecologist, Dr. Rosenfield is known for his work on women’s reproductive health and human rights, strategies to address maternal deaths in poor countries, and the HIV/AIDS pandemic, both domestically and globally.
Rosenfield’s work has focused on the role of non-medical personnel in prescribing contraceptives, averting maternal mortality and morbidity from pregnancy-related complications, and treatment and care of HIV-infected women and children in reSource -poor settings. He also serves as an advisor to numerous governmental and non-governmental organizations concerned with reproductive rights, maternal and child health, and other public health issues.
