Tom Selleck is a Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning American actor, screenwriter and film producer, best known for his starring role on the long-running television show “Magnum P.I.”. Selleck starred in a number of film roles during and after “Magnum”; among the most notable were “Quigley Down Under,” “Christopher Columbus: The Discovery,” and ” Baseball.”
In 2000, Selleck received an honorary doctorate from Pepperdine University. He is a board member of the non-profit Michael Josephson Institute of Ethics and co-founder of the Character Counts Coalition. Selleck received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1986, and has won an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and 3 People’s Choice Awards.
