Kara Swisher is an American journalist. A technology columnist for the “Wall Street Journal”, she is also a prominent author and commentator on the Internet. During the formative years of the Internet Economy, she created and wrote the paper’s must-read column, “Boom Town”.
Swisher broke many stories about the Web’s major players and Internet policy issues and also wrote feature articles on technology for the paper. Currently, she writes a column for the “Personal Journal” section of the “Wall Street Journal”, called Home Economics. She is the author of “aol.com: How Steve Case Beat Bill Gates, Nailed the Netheads and Made Millions in the War for the Web”. She also co-created, produces and hosts the “Journal’s” annual D: All Things Digital conference.
