Charles R. Lee is a retired Chairman of the Board of Verizon Communications. Lee served as Chairman of the Board and Co-CEO of Verizon Communications from June 30, 2000, through March 31, 2002, and served as non-executive Chairman of the Board from April 2002 to December 2003.

Lee is a Director of United States Steel Corporation, The Proctor & Gamble Company, United Technologies Corporation, DIRECTV Group, Inc., American Institutes for Research and Project GRAD U.S.A. Lee is a member of the Board of Overseers of Weill Cornell Medical College. He is a member of The Business Council. Lee is also a Trustee Emeritus and Presidential Councilor of Cornell University.
