Lois Kasper was an advocate for cancer patients affiliated with the organization S.H.A.R.E a not-for-profit organization that offers survivor-led support to women with breast or ovarian cancer. When she had learned she had metastatic cancer, she decided to help other women in her condition. She took hot line calls from women with advanced breast cancer and she spoke out publicly out regarding treatment for breast cancer involving Herceptin. She was also the subject of a documentary piece produced by a local TV station which followed her life in order to chronicle the struggles of a young women dying of breast cancer.
