Valarie Pettiford is a Broadway, film and television actress. Her performance on Broadway in “Fosse” earned her nominations for a Tony, Grammy, Outer Critics Circle and Dora Mavor Moore awards. Her other theater credits include “Chicago,” “Dancin’” and “Big Deal,” as principal dancer, actress, singer and dance captain. She starred in the Broadway show “Grind” and in the first national tour of “Showboat”, a performance which earned her a Vancouver Sun Reader’s Choice Award and an NAACP Image Award.

For her work on “HALF & HALF”, Pettiford was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She created the role of Sheila Price in “One Life to Live” and has guest starred in several television shows. Her film credits include “Glitter,” “The Wiz,” “Cotton Club” and “Like Mike.” Pettiford recorded a CD, “Hear My Soul”, which was released in 2005.
