Kyle D. Pruett is Clinical Professor of Child Psychiatry and Director of Medical Studies at the Yale University Child Study Center, Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Pruett conducted the country’s only long-term study of the developmental impact on children of primary caretaking fathers. Author of several award-winning books, he has hosted his own Lifetime Television series, “Your Child Six to Twelve with Dr. Kyle Pruett.” A columnist and contributing editor to “Good Housekeeping” and “Child” magazine and parentsedge.com, he also has served as consultant for “CBS Morning News,” and appeared regularly on “Good Morning America,” “Oprah,” and National Public Radio. Dr. Pruett is a frequent contributor to “The New York Times.”

Dr. Pruett consulted to Vice President Al Gore for the White House Conference on “Men in Children’s Lives,” and is immediate past president of Zero to Three: National Center for Infants, Toddlers and their Families, and the International Study Group on Fathers and Child Development. Dr. Pruett also serves as program consultant to the The Goddard School. He maintains a private practice in infant, child, adolescent and family psychiatry.
