Adele Logan Alexander
Dr. Adele Logan Alexander is a professor of history at George Washington University. She is the author “Ambiguous Lives: Free Women of Color in Rural Georgia, 1789-1879,” and “Homelands and Waterways: The American Journey of the Bond Family, 1846-1926.”
Dr. Alexander also authored, “Homelands and Waterways: The American Journey of the Bond Family.” The book traces her family history from the era of her English immigrant ancestor, John Robert Bond, and his wife, former slave Emma Thomas, in post-Civil War America, to the Jazz Age, where Alexander?s ancestors became prominent members in Washington society.
