Kevin Smith is an American screenwriter, film director, and the founder of View Askew Productions. He is also known as a comic book writer and actor. Smith’s films are often set in his home state of New Jersey and are filled with pop culture references, particularly to comic books and the Star Wars movies.
Smith’s breakout movie was Clerks which debuted at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival and became a success on the independent film circuit. His other famous movies include Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Clerks II. He has also written for Marvel and DC Comics, including an 8-issue run on Daredevil and a 15-issue run Green Arrow.
