Watson is a British actress of stage and screen. She trained at the London Drama Studio. She began appearing in theatrical productions and by 1992 was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she met her husband, actor Jack Walters and appeared in such productions as “The Taming of the Shrew” (1992) and “The Children’s Hour” (1994). Many consider her appearance in Lars Von Trier’s “Breaking the Waves” (1996) as a break-out performance. She earned a Oscar nomination for that role and for her role as the eccentric cellist Jacqueline du Pre in the biopic “Hilary and Jackie” (1998).
