Sherwin Nuland is a professor of clinical surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine. His 1994 book, “How We Die”, won the National Book Award. In 2003, he wrote a memoir of his life growing up in the Bronx called “Lost in America”. “The Art of Aging” was published in early 2007. He has also written for “The New Yorker”, “The New York Times”, “The New Republic”, “Time”, and the “New York Review of Books”. He is the father of the current U.S. ambassador to NATO, Victoria Nuland.
