Richard Blumenthal is an American politician. First elected in 1990, Richard Blumenthal is serving his fifth term as Attorney General. He served as U.S. Attorney for Connecticut, and as a federal prosecutor. Blumenthal served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1984 to 1987, and the State Senate from 1987 to 1990. He graduated from Harvard College and Yale Law School, where he was editor of the Yale Law Journal. Blumenthal was also a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
