Clemens Hellsberg is a violinist and conductor. He has been the Chairman of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra since 1997 after serving as the Vice Chairman.

In 1978 Hellsberg was appointed first violinist at the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and in 1980 was admitted to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and appointed archivist. He published “Democracy of Kings” The History of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the French and Japanese editions. In 2002 Hellsberg was awarded Professorship by the late Austrian President Thomas Klestil.
