Brian Duffy is the vice president and associate program manager for the Lockheed Martin Corporation. He is also a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and a former NASA astronaut. After graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1975, Duffy was stationed at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan and Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

In 1986, Duffy became an astronaut and was the pilot on STS-45 Atlantis from March 24 to April 2, 1992 and on STS-57 Endeavour from June 21 to July 1, 1993. These two missions were followed by Duffy leading a crew on STS-72 Endeavour from January 11 to 20, 1996 and on STS-92 Discovery from October 11 to October 24, 2000.
