Joshua Smith, Ph.D. is a paleontologist and assistant professor of earth and planetary sciences at Washington University. In 1999, he and partner Matthew Lamanna discovered a large Paralititan Stromeri dinosaur in North Africa. In 2005, Smith along with D. Tab Rasmussen embarked on a collaborative paleontological expedition between American and Libyan scientists. They found fossils of sharks, bony fish, crocodiles and turtles in Libya.
