Eric Pooley has been managing editor of “Fortune” since April, 2005, responsible for overseeing and directing all of the magazine’s editorial operations. Prior to joining “Fortune”, Pooley had been editor of “Time Europe” since September 2002. Under Pooley’s editorship, the magazine won a number of awards for its coverage of business, European affairs, and international relations, as well as for design and photography. Pooley was twice short-listed for the Editor of the Year Award by the British Society of Magazine Editors, and “Time Europe” won four of “Time Inc.’s” Henry R. Luce Awards.

From January 2001 to September 2002, Pooley was nation editor for “Time” in the U.S., overseeing the magazine’s political, military and national-affairs coverage. Before that he was “Time’s” chief political correspondent. His work on the White House beat was recognized when he won the 1996 Gerald R. Ford Prize for Excellence in Reporting.
