Guy Cogeval is an art scholar and museum director. The director of The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, he is responsible for artistic leadership and executive management of one of Canada?s oldest and most distinguished art museums. He curated or oversaw such critically acclaimed exhibitions as “The Triumph of the Baroque”, “Hitchcock and Art”, and “Picasso Érotique”.
Cogeval was for twelve years professor of art history at the École du Louvre. Previous positions include curator in the education department at the Musée du Louvre, and curator at the Musée des beaux-arts de Lyon. In 2001, he was awarded a medal of honor by the government of France.
