Barry McCaffrey is a retired United States Army General. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the United States Military Academy. He is a NBC and MSNBC military analyst as well as a consultant for BR McCaffrey Associates.

Over the course of McCaffrey?s military career, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross twice, the Purple Heart three times and the Silver Star twice. In his career, he rose to become the youngest General in the Army at the time of his promotion. He was Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) under President Bill Clinton from 1996 to 2001.
