Robert Legvold is the Marshall Shulman Professor of Political Science at Columbia University. He is a member of Executive Committee of The Harriman Institute. He specializes in the foreign policy of the Soviet Union and the post-Soviet states, with a specific interest in the impact the post-Soviet region continues to have on the international politics of East Asia and Western Europe.

Levgold has published numerous books and articles on this topic. Recently, he published ?Russian Foreign Policy in the 21st Century and the Shadow of the Past?.
