Gideon Rose is a writer and scholar. He is Managing Editor of “Foreign Affairs”, and was an Olin Senior Fellow, Deputy Director of National Security Studies, and Associate Director for Near East and South Asian Affairs, National Security Council.

Rose has written many for many publications, including “The National Interest” and “Foreign Affairs”. He edited volumes (with James F. Hoge Jr.): “Understanding the War on Terror”; “America and the World” and “How Did This Happen?”.
