David Hockney is an English artist, based in Los Angeles, California. An important contributor to British Pop Art of the 1960s, he is considered one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Hockney was made a Companion of Honour in 1997 and was made an RA, Royal Academician by the Royal Academy of Arts, London in 1991.
