Byron Richard Wien is the Vice Chairman of Blackstone Advisory Services LP. He was a Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist at Pequot Capital Management Inc. He joined the firm on December 1, 2005. Mr. Wien was an Advisory Director and maintains an office with Morgan Stanley in New York. Previously, he served for 21 years as Chief U.S. Investment Strategist and later Senior Investment Strategist for Morgan Stanley. Mr. Wien joined Morgan Stanley in 1985, … where he established a reputation as one of Wall Street’s preeminent bears during most equity market cycles. Previously, Mr. Wien spent 20 years as a Portfolio Manager at Weiss, Peck and Greer and other money management firms. He also worked at Robeco USA, Inc. Mr. Wien is the Vice Chairman of Blackstone Advisory Services LP, since August 12, 2009 and a Director of Phoenix House Foundation Inc. He also is a Director of Soros Fund Management, Supervisory Director of George Soros’ Quantum Funds, and a Trustee of the Pritzker Foundation. Mr. Wien is a Member of the Investment Committee of Lincoln Center and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He is also a Trustee of the New-York Historical Society and Pritzker Foundation. Mr. Wien is the Vice Chairman of the Manhattan Institute as well as a Board member and Head of the Strategic Planning Committee of Phoenix House. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Overseers’ Committee on University Resources. Mr. Wien was the President and Chairman of the Harvard Business School Club of Greater New York. Mr. Wien received his M.B.A. and B.A. from Harvard University.
