Stephen Glenn Martin is an American comedian, writer, producer, actor, musician and composer. In the 1970s, he made numerous TV appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and “Saturday Night Live (SNL), and has released several successful comedy albums including “A Wild and Crazy Guy”. In 1979 he wrote and starred in his first feature film “The Jerk”.

Martin appeared in the musical film version of the hit off-Broadway play “Little Shop of Horrors”. In 1987, Martin joined comedian John Candy in the movie, “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”, the same year he co-wrote and starred in the “Cyrano de Bergerac” adaptation “Roxanne”, for which he won a Writers Guild of America award. His more recent films are “Shopgirl”, based on his own novella, and “Cheaper By the Dozen”.

Martin has won two Grammys for Best Comedy Recording, and the Mark Twain Prize for American Literature in 2003.
