Uma Karuna Thurman is an Oscar-nominated American film actress. She performs predominantly in leading roles in a variety of films, ranging from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action thrillers. She is best known for her films directed by Quentin Tarantino. Her most popular films include “Dangerous Liaisons”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Gattaca” and the two “Kill Bill” movies.

Thurman has received three MTV Movie Awards for Best Female Performance. In 2006, she was named a knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France for outstanding achievement in the field of art and literature.
