David Wright is an American journalist. An ABC News correspondent, he brings a well-traveled perspective to his reports for “World News with Charles Gibson,” “Nightline” and “Good Morning America.” In the past five years, he has visited some 40 countries, covering major news events in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, India, Asia and the U.S.
Wright was in Baghdad before the US invasion and has since reported from every major city in Iraq. His reports from Baghdad and Fallujah, part of ABC’s ongoing “Where Things Stand” project, shared a 2004 Emmy award. His coverage of the Darfur genocide in Sudan won a 2005 Emmy Award and an Overseas Press Club Award.
