Mark Robert Bowden is an American writer. He was a staff writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer from 1979-2003. He has won numerous awards and has written for “Men’s Journal,” “The Atlantic Monthly”, “Sports Illustrated,” and “Rolling Stone.” Bowden received international recognition for his book “Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern War,” which was turned into a film directed by Ridley Scott.
