Melissa Leo is an American actress best known for playing the tough-minded shift-Sergeant Kay Howard on the award-winning TV series ?Homicide: Life on the Street? from 1993-1997. She has also been a regular on ?All My Children? and ?The Young Riders?, and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1985.

Feature films Leo has appeared in include ?A Time of Destiny?, ?Last Summer in the Hamptons?, ?21 Grams?, and ?The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada?. Leo was the runner-up for the 2004 Los Angeles Film Critics Association Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in ?21 Grams?.
