Dr. Dennis Charney is the Dean for Academic and Scientific Affairs at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Senior Vice President for Health Sciences at The Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is the founding director of the Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program (MAP). Dr. Charney is one of the nation?s foremost investigators in the neurobiology and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders.

From 2000-2004, Dr. Charney served as the Chief of the Mood and Anxiety Disorder Research Program and the Experimental Therapeutics and Pathophysiology Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health. He was elected to the Institute of Medicine in 2000.
