Barney Gimbel is a writer-reporter at “Fortune”.

Gimbel joined the magazine in September 2004 as a general assignment writer and reporter. Since then he has penned feature stories on topics ranging from ailing airlines to new Hollywood, from feuding billionaires to the first new railroad in 100 years.

Prior to “Fortune”, Gimbel worked at “Newsweek”, where he wrote more than 50 stories, including a cover story on the Martha Stewart criminal trial.
