Martie Maguire is an American country music songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, and a founding member of the all-female country music band the Dixie Chicks. She plays fiddle, mandolin, viola and sings background vocals in the group. She wrote the song “Cowboy Take Me Away” on the Dixie Chicks fifth album “Fly” for her sister Emily Robison.
