Natalie Louise Maines is an American country music singer and songwriter who achieved success as the lead singer for the female country music band Dixie Chicks. Her first commercially released work was background vocals on Pat Green’s debut album, “Dancehall Dreamer”. She also plays acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, papoose and omnichord.
Maines has continued to sing backup vocals for several songs on other artists’ albums including “Snowing on Raton” on Pat Green’s 1997 album “George’s Bar”; and “Abilene” on Sheryl Crow’s 2002 album “C’mon C’mon”.
