Christopher Julius Rock is a Grammy Award-winning comedian and actor, voted as one of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time by Comedy Central in 2004.

Rock’s career was launched when Eddie Murphy recommended him for the cast of “Saturday Night Live,” where he then performed from 1990 to 1993. After being let go from the cast, Rock focused his energy on stand-up, breaking out as one of the hottest comedians in the industry with his 1996 HBO comedy special “Bring the Pain”. He has gone on to a number of successes, including two more HBO specials and his own talk show, “The Chris Rock Show”. He has won three Emmys for his work. Rock has translated his comedy into print form in the book “Rock This!” and has released two best-selling comedy albums, “Roll with the New” and “Bigger and Blacker”. In early 2005, he hosted the 77th Academy Awards ceremony.
