Dr. Rudy Leibel is a medical researcher and professor at Columbia University. Leibel teaches in Columbia University’s Genetics of Complex Disorders Training Program. His lab works to identify genes related to obesity and/or type 2 diabetes in rodents and humans. Leibel is considered an expert on obesity and is heavily written about in news coverage concerning the role that genetics play in human obesity.
