Clifton Leaf is an executive editor at ?Fortune?, where he directs Wall Street and investing coverage, as well as two annual special issues, the summer and year-end investor’s guides. In addition, he edits other feature stories and packages for the magazine, and wrote Fortune’s provocative March 18, 2002, cover story on white-collar criminals, documenting how little prison time corporate offenders then served. Before joining ?Fortune?, Leaf was executive editor of ?SmartMoney?, where a piece he wrote shared in a nomination for a National Magazine award. Before coming to ?SmartMoney? as a senior editor in 1996, Mr. Leaf held editorial positions at Fitness magazine and Harper’s Bazaar. He has written for many national publications and has been a featured guest on CNN, CNBC, National Public Radio, and most major television networks.
