David Martin is an American journalist. He has been CBS News national security correspondent, covering the Pentagon and the State Department, since 1993. He has contributed to the “CBS Evening News”, as well as “60 Minutes” and “48 Hours”.

Martin received two Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards in three years for his body of work. He has received the 2004 Joan S. Barone Award for excellence in Washington-based national affairs and public policy reporting awarded by the Washington Radio & Television Correspondents Association. He is the author of two books, “Wilderness of Mirrors”, “Best Laid Plans: The Inside Story of America’s War Against Terrorism”.
