Edward Mortimer was until January 2007 the Director of Communications in the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General. He is an author, journalist, and fellow of All Souls College Oxford.

Mortimer is now Senior Vice President of The Salzburg Seminar.

Before joining the United Nations he was a columnist and leader writer for the Financial Times. His books include: “Roosevelt’s Children.” and “Faith and Power, the politics of Islam.”
