Ronald Brownstein is a national political correspondent for the “Los Angeles Times,” and the author of the weekly “Washington Outlook” column, which appears in the “Times” and is syndicated nationally. He has been with the “Times” since January 1990, except for seven months in 1998 when he served as chief political correspondent and columnist for “U.S. News and World Report.”

Brownstein is also a political analyst for CNN, appearing weekly on the CNN program, “Inside Politics,” and regularly on other CNN programs such as the “Morning News” and “Wolf Blitzer Reports.”
