William R. Hambrecht is the founder, chairman and co-CEO of WR Hambrecht + Co., founded in 1998. Before that company, he founded and ran Hambrecht & Quist, an investment banking firm specializing in emerging high-growth technology companies, founded in 1968. Hambrecht has served as a director for numerous private and public companies, including the Board of Trustees for The American University of Beirut and the Advisory Investment Committee to the Board of Regents of the University of California.
