William J. Broad is a U.S. journalist and author.
He writes about science topics for “The New York Times” for over two decades. He has received many major journalistic prizes in the field and has twice shared the Pulitzer Prize with colleagues.
He is the author of the books “Teller’s War: The TopSecret Story Behind the Star Wars Deception” (1992), “Star Warriors: A Penetrating Look into the Lives of the Young Scientists Behind Our Space Age Weaponry” (1985, which covers Xray lasers in the Strategic Defense Initiative, and “Betrayers of the Truth: Fraud and Deceit in the Halls of Science” (2003).
