Katrina vanden Heuvel

Katrina vanden Heuvel is the editor, part-owner, and publisher of “The Nation” magazine. She has been the magazine’s editor since 1995. Her article, “Right-to-Lifers Hit Russia”, won her the Maggie Award from Planned Parenthood. She was the 2003 recipient of the Voices of Peace award from The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

In addition to various other awards, vanden Heuvel has also been recognized by the New York Civil Liberties Union, a branch of the much larger American Civil Liberties Union. She is a member of the advisory board of the Roosevelt Institution.
