Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a French film director. His films are idiosyncratic fantasies characterized by detailed sets and meandering storylines. He befriended Marc Caro, a designer and comic book artist who became Jeunet’s longtime collaborator and co-director. Together they directed award-winning animations. Among Jeunet’s more notable films was “Amélie”, which was nominated for several Academy Awards. For this film he also received a European Film Award for Best Director.
