Shaul Bakhash is a scholar of Persian studies. He currently teaches at George Mason University where he is Clarence J. Robinson Professor of History.

Iranian by origin, Bakhash is a former Guggenheim Fellow as well as a fellow at the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study in New Jersey. He received his M.A. from Harvard University and his D. Phil from Oxford University. His publications are numerous and focus on Iran and its history and politics.
